Garmin Echo 200, January 24, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Garmin echo 200 Fishfinder (Electronics) This is a great Fishfinder for a small 16' aluminium boat, it works great on shallow water and on deep water, easy to see on the sun, very secure, no problems with water, just dry it with a cloth and still going, very easy to use, and program, many diferent options and really detail images. I recommend this fishfinder for anyone with low budget, work better than others too much expensive.

The only problem I had with the unit, was the connection for the transducer. The screen continually showed demo mode and I couldn't figure out why. If the transducer connection is not pushed into the quick release housing enough, it will stay in demo mode. Pushed the connector in and it works flawlessly. Great product.

I AM USING AN OLD GARMIN 160 TRANSDUCER THAT I HAD PREVIOUSLY MOUNTED IN A "SHOOT-THRU-HULL" MT AND IT FUNCTIONS GREAT UP TO 35 MPH(TOP SPEED OF MY BOAT). I HAD TO BUY A $13.00 ADAPTER CABLE TO CHANGE IT FROM A 6 PIN TO A 4 PIN CONNECTION & GARMIN TECH DEPT ADVISES ME I AM LOOSING SOME NEW TECHNOLOGY FEATURES WITH THE OLD TRANSDUCER BUT i AM VERY HAPPY WITH WHAT I SEE. TRY IT, YOU'LL LIKE IT.
